This blog is mostly about what many may know but don’t really
believe. It’s about what we may believe
but don’t, or can’t, experience in our lives.
It is a tradition-buster and, at the same time, a truth builder. We will explore the opportunities God has
given us and our responsibilities in Christ, the things very few pastors talk
about. The purpose is to bring more understanding into the darkness that
surrounds us. It will likely make us
angry, more than once. But I’ve learned that’s alright--truth that makes us
angry has the greatest power to change us!
In the beginning--to “It
is finished”
God created the earth and made it beautiful and good. Because He wanted a family, He created man to be like Him. God placed man (Adam) in a beautiful, fruitful garden with all things necessary for life and gave him dominion over all the earth. God’s DNA was in Adam!
Adam and his wife, Eve, allowed pride and lust to guide their thoughts and actions, violated God’s instructions and enabled the devil to have influence over the earth. While God still desired a family and loved Adam and Eve, His justice demanded that they be removed from the paradise God had given them. Through their sin, sin began its reign in all mankind.
To restore mankind to Himself and
to demonstrate His love for us, God sent His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ,
to die on the cross of Calvary as full payment for the sin of all mankind,
past, present and future, and to destroy the works of the devil. Jesus took the punishment we deserved so we
could become like Him. When He cried,
“It is finished,” God’s plan for mankind was completely restored. We,
individually, must appropriate what He has done. In Him we receive all He gave
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Through
His death, in Him, we can be restored to God’s family, be made righteous,
become sons of God and receive all the benefits of the New Testament of the
Bible. In Him, we are actually seated
with Him in heavenly places!
